What is wikido?
It is a search engine for events and all that is going on in your city. WikiDo collects information automatically from millions of sites on the web and sends the users back to the original sites for the event details.

Who collects events from other sites to put onto WikiDo?
A weekly automatic programme scans the sites from which the events are transferred. All the policies of crawling are respected when doing this. e.g. To not create problems of overloading the server that we scan, two pages are downloaded from the same web server with a pause of at least 15 seconds.
I have a site of which WikiDo promotes events with errors in the contents and images
We are working daily to resolve all the problems of the automatic parser. Please correct the data directly from the results page by clicking on the tool button. Unfortunately some errors are not easy to correct immediately. Therefore if you think that you could be damaged by WikiDo showing your events with errors, you can ask for your domain to be obscured [See the following FAQ, with instructions to obscure a domain]

I have a site events but I do not want WikiDo to show the contents
WikiDo collects in a single results page different types of events that cannot coexist in a traditional website of events. So the main aim isn't to obscure the sites of which we show events but to increase the popularity of both events and each event site advertised by us. This is to render all the relative information of what is going-on today in each city really accessible.

How to remove my website from the results of WikiDo
WikiDo's Crawler respects all the crawling policies and when it scans your site it is customized with the following parameters
Bot name: WikiDo [Bot]
Agent match: WikiDo
User agent string: WikiDo/1.1 (http://wikido.com; [email protected])
To disable the crawling it's sufficient to configure the robots.txt by adding the following lines below the last line of the current content:
User-agent: WikiDo
Disallow: /
Alternatively it's possible to fill out this form [REMOVE A HOST].
The contents will be obscured at the next indexation of sites that takes place weekly.
Should you want to delete an event immediately, it's possible to do so individually at any time from the results page with the tool button.
